Writer/Director Gary Ugarek is proud to announce that he has kicked into full gear, the pre-production on Deadlands III: The New World, the final entry into his
own home made zombie saga.

Climbing on board under the title of producer is Daniel Ross, whose exploits include, Ninjas VS. Zombies, Ninjas VS. Vampires and Transformers: The Video
Game.

Returning talent from previous Deadlands films will include Ugarek regulars Dave Cooperman and Michelle Wright. Melisa Breiner-Sanders, who appeared as
an evacuee in Deadlands 1 will be coming on board for a major role in the film. Deadlands 2 cinematographer Krystian Ramlogan is coming back for Deadlands
3, and Virginia based cinematogrpaher Victor Nash will be coming aboard the project to help the production incorporate the use of DLSR technology.
Deadlands 1 & 2 co-composer Brian Wright along with Gary will compose the films score keeping with the vibe of previous films, and Ugarek himself will serve
as editor once again.

The Deadlands 3 screenplay, written by Ugarek and Women's Studies Writer/Director Lonnie Martin is the most epic entry into the Deadlands series. The
screenplay was originally conceived as a direct sequel to Deadlands 1, but has now morphed into its very own stand alone entry and not only incorporates
elements of the Zombie uprising, but is nearly all set after the dead have taken over the world.

Deadlands 3 has literally been in development since mid 2008, while Deadlands 2 was still shooting, the script was re-drafted as a remake of Deadlands 1,
then changed back to a stand alone entry. Originally clocking in at 121 pages the screenplay has taken on many forms and lengths, it is currently on draft #7
and is 147 pages long. If shot page for page and edited exactly as written the film would be the running length of both previous Deadlands films combined.

Deadlands 3 will be shot primairly in Maryland, and Virginia. Some production elements will also take place in Pennsylvania and Tennessee.

Ugarek is currently accepting headshots and resume from local DC/MD/VA actors and actresses. You can email your head shots and resumes to

Rumors abound that this will be Ugarek's last feature film as well as last Zombie film... Yes this is 100% true.

"I have opted to make Deadlands 3 my last feature film as writer/director/producer and editor. After 5+ years, many fans and a nice little bit of success it has
also been a very stressful time. However, I am very excited about this final entry and have warned everyone coming on board this will probably be the most
physically and emotionally exhausting entry into the series and since this will be the last film in a successful indie series... every single cast and crew
member, including myself, will have to bring their A-game."

Right now Ugarek, and producer Daniel Ross, along with DP Krystian Ramlogan and DSLR expert Victor Nash will be holding their first crew production
meeting in January to work out logistics and equipment needs. Casting call will be held in early february and a promo trailer will be shot in early March 2011.
Full production and shooting will begin in May 2011 and wrap in late August 2011.
